Sunday/Monday: A lot accomplished

No post last night as went out to EH with Dee yesterday.  Stopped by to see Redjeb before I left, but did not see him today, Monday, as when I got back to the city, it was evening and Redjeb was tired from a busy day.  This is the first day since the accident that I have not seen him.  His daughter Nicole was with him during the afternoon and evening.  She said that he did really well today and that they had him practicing walking in the hallway.  She said his appetite was the best she'd seen.  So that is all really good.

My day in East Hampton was very productive.  Neighbors kept popping up to help out, which was really nice.  We got the kayaks off the beach (I was concerned about a big storm happening before I get out there again);  "my handyman" was able to come at a moment's notice to repair rotting boards on our ramp to the porch; furniture got moved indoors, stuff got unpacked and put away--and I managed to get my hair cut by the woman down the street who has a shop.  She was taking a couple weeks off for vacation but kindly worked me in.  A neighbor even delivered us to the Jitney. Everyone was so kind and helpful that I felt high and invigorated by it all.

I might add that I was not really polite to my helpful neighbors (and I know you are reading this), as my initial greeting was that I was busy and had no time to talk.  But they were all understanding (or pretended) to be, and got right into my mode.  I thank you all for your help.  You may think that what you did was little, but it was big...and much appreciated.  I didn't know I needed (or could use) help.

Although I'm tired this eve, I am much less stressed than I have been.  I still don't have a routine and there is still paperwork etc to be dealt with.  But it's nice to be home, and even nicer that Redjeb seems to be being taken care of at the "home."
